God in the Middle of the Camp

Updated: 6 days ago

“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.” — Leviticus 26:12

When Israel camped in the wilderness, every family lived in an ordinary tent. Nothing special. Nothing impressive. But right in the middle of all those tents, God placed one tent that was different — the Tent of Meeting. It was right in the center of their daily lives.

Every morning, when a mother stepped out to gather water… or a father looked across the camp… Every child, every elder, every wanderer…They could all see the place where God chose to dwell. God was saying something without using words: “I want to be in the middle of your life, not on the margins.”

This is the heart of discernment and formation. It is the heart of The Way.

God does not ask us to climb a mountain to hear Him. He does not hide His presence behind rituals or perfection. He places Himself right in the center of our ordinary days — the quiet moments, the questions, the stirrings we can’t quite name.

Discernment begins when we notice Him there. Formation begins when we let His presence shape us. The Way begins when we take one small step toward Him.

Wherever you are today — in clarity or confusion, in wilderness or in peace — God is not far off. He is in the middle of your camp. He is calling you.

Your only task is to step outside the tent and look toward Him.
